Edén del Acebo
The stone house, the terrace and the garden

The house

A house that still belongs to the village

Edén del Acebo is a guesthouse and pilgrim hostel on Calle Real in El Acebo de San Miguel, the first village of El Bierzo as you come down from the Montes de León.

What the stone tells you

The house keeps what made it recognisable: stone walls, exposed wooden beams, a balcony and a slate roof. None of it was covered up during the restoration, because that is exactly what makes people remember El Acebo after walking through it.

Inside, the work went into comfort: three suites with their own bathrooms, heating for mountain nights, and decoration with pieces that step away from the strictly traditional. The result is a warm house, without the coldness of a place you only pass through.

There are only six beds. That means you will never share the house with thirty people, and that if you arrive late or need anything, there is someone on the other end of the phone.

Five words

If we had to keep just five, these would be them.

  • Welcoming

You walk in and feel good. It's the first thing guests tell us.

  • Traditional

Stone, wood and slate, the way it has always been built here.

  • Family-run

You deal with us directly, no middlemen and no impersonal reception.

  • With a view

A private terrace opening onto the Bierzo valley.

  • On the Camino

On Calle Real, where the French Way runs through.

The whole house

If there are six of you, you can rent the entire house. In that case the kitchen and laundry open up too, and the terrace is yours alone. It is the usual choice for groups and families staying more than one night in El Bierzo.
